Interested. Awake, Perfect. Cynical.

Anyone choosing to make art the sole endeavor of their life must have those characteristics. An artist living on wits must fuse hard work with an ability to render the human form with perfection, and do that with originality of approach, which requires intellectual engagement.

Shivers’, born in New York City, hand drawn illustrations often reflect life with creativity. He inserts emotion into the images with ink precision and heart. His work also demonstrates an underlying element of darkness without being oppressive, as the viewer manifests meaning.

There is also another side to Shivers’ work, another half in the form of intricate collages featuring orgies of surreal movement—he calls “Psycho Realism”. Deftly cut from vintage and contemporary sources, the images used are all-original and arranged to tell of a crazed reality, which is playful, ominous, entertaining, and complex.
